Blind Man from Madagascar Healed

Featuring: Rev. Peter Youngren, Edmond Rakotomalala
Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar
Summary: A recounted healing where Edmond Rakotomalala, a man blind from birth, is given a pamphlet for a healing festival with Rev. Peter Youngren.  With hopes of receiving a miracle Edmond attends alongside his wife of 30 years. During the s
ervice Rev. Youngren prays and announces that "Jesus has opened your eyes" at which point Edmond opens his eyes from among the crowd and is able to see for the first time. Edmond is brought on stage to share with Rev. Youngren what happened.

Comments: It is interesting that the evangelist did not need to touch the blind man but rather just announce the healing.  Similar to how Jesus healed the Centurion's servant in Luke 7:1-10.

Blind Woman Healed in front of 200,000 People

Featuring: Rev. Daniel Kolenda
Location: Abidjan, Ivory Coast
Summary: A women in attendance at an evangelism campaign in Abidjan is interviewed on stage with Daniel Kolenda. She shares that she had been blind since 2004. Speaking in French, she explains that at the previous night's meeting she was healed in one of her eyes but still is not able to see out the other. Daniel prays once and commands the right eye to open... no change. Daniel persists and prays a second time and commands the eye to open. "Oui! Oui! Oui!" she exclaims. This time the healing was complete.

Comments: Reminded of the miracle recorded in Mark 8:22-26 where a blind man is brought to Jesus and requires a second touch before fully seeing. While there may be a deeper reason behind Jesus' method of 'spitting and laying hands for healing twice', what we can see is an encouraging example of persistence when seeking healing and never giving up.  Also to note: It is okay to be honest if you aren't healed. Pretending is not the same as faith and receiving. Boldly pray again!
